A different approach to weight management in Sydney
Overweight and obesity are complex medical conditions, influenced by hormones, metabolism, neurobiology, behaviour, psychology and life history. It’s not simply a lack of willpower or discipline.
Noi Clinic treats weight management conditions using an evidence-based, multidisciplinary approach consistent with current Australian obesity treatment guidelines. Rather than defaulting to restrictions or quick fixes, we work to understand what is actually driving your weight, then build a plan that is realistic, safe and sustainable for the long term.

Why this approach feels different
Most weight loss approaches focus on short-term results and willpower alone. Patients follow rigid plans, and still repeat the same cycle. They rarely ask why maintaining weight loss has felt harder than it should.
We focus on what is actually driving your weight:
Genetic and hormonal influences on your metabolism
Metabolic adaptation and how your body responds over time
Psychological and behavioural patterns around food and eating
Changing energy requirements and how food choices relate to this
ADHD and neurodiversity factors
Sustainable habits, not short-term discipline
Medical and surgical supervision and safety throughout
Reducing weight regain over time, not just achieving initial loss
How we monitor your progress
We review your health at each stage to ensure your care remains safe, effective and responsive. Monitoring may include:
Weight, waist measurements and body composition
Blood pressure and cardiovascular markers
Blood tests such as cholesterol, glucose and insulin markers
Medication response and any side effects
Nutritional adequacy of intake
Post-surgical healing and nutritional status
Muscle, bone and overall health indicators
Psychological questionnaires, relationship with food and mood
What patients at our Crows Nest, Sydney clinic commonly experience
With the right understanding and support, patients often notice:
Sustainable weight loss and improved confidence
Greater clarity around nutrition and eating habits
Improved cholesterol, blood pressure and glucose control
Better energy, mobility and day-to-day functioning
Reduced cravings and emotional eating
Improved metabolic health
Increased understanding of their weight and health
A healthier relationship with food and body image
More confidence in maintaining weight loss long term
Individual results vary. Weight management outcomes depend on a range of medical, behavioural and lifestyle factors. Realistic expectations will be discussed with you at your initial consultation.
This is structured care, not a quick fix
Weight management is a long-term health condition. It benefits from ongoing understanding, monitoring and support — not a single prescription, a short programme, or a one-time surgical procedure.
Our goal is to help you make sense of your weight and support change that is safe, personalised and sustainable over the long term.
Available in our Crows Nest, Sydney clinic, and via telehealth for patients across Australia.

How we understand your weight
Instead of starting with treatment, we begin by building a clear picture of what is influencing your weight over time.
Step 1 — We take a full picture of your health and weight history
You receive a comprehensive medical assessment with Dr Rosemary Atkinson, including a review of your full weight history, relevant blood tests, and identification of any metabolic, hormonal or medical factors that may be contributing.
Step 2 — We look at what may be influencing your body right now
Weight is shaped by many factors that a standard GP appointment rarely has time to explore. We review:
Hormonal changes, including peri-menopause and menopause
Insulin resistance and metabolic adaptation
Thyroid and other endocrine factors
Medication-related weight changes
Psychological and behavioural patterns around food
ADHD and neurodiversity factors affecting eating and habits
Previous weight loss attempts and why they may not have lasted
Step 3 — We translate your assessment into a personalised plan
Depending on your needs and goals, your plan may include one or more of the following:
Medical weight management strategies tailored to your physiology
Prescription weight loss medications, including GLP-1 therapies that are clinically appropriate
Individualised nutrition planning with our dietitian
Psychology and behaviour management support
Exercise guidance
Surgical weight loss - for patients where medical management alone is unlikely to achieve sufficient health outcomes, or who have already explored other medical pathways
Ongoing monitoring, review and adjustment of plan
Long-term maintenance planning incorporated from the start
